After UPC Vienna Capitals winning the opening game of Erste Bank Eishockey Liga finals, the series continues on Sunday. EC-KAC wants to tie the series in front of their home crowd but the Caps have already won twice this season in Klagenfurt. The puck drops at 5 pm with the tv partners Servus TV and Sky broadcasting live. UPC Vienna Capitals set the pace in the opening game for 40 minutes and earned a well-deserved 4:1 home win. It was their first step to a possible second championship of the club and they also have the stats on their side: Last four season the later champions always won the first game. "They played smart, we did not expect the way they played," admits Manuel Ganahl, who wants to tie the series on Sunday: "We drew conclusions from the first game. We have to use our chances and there has to be more traffic in front of their net." In the semis, KAC already lost the opening game against Salzburg and suffered another defeat in the next game. The Carinthians will be without Steven Strong who is still suspended. The Caps do not have much time to look back, too. However, there won't be big changes to the first game, the team wants to take the momentum to Klagenfurt. "I have a play how our game should look like. We see the game as a must win and I expect Klagenfurt does the same", says Caps coach Serge Aubin. The Viennese have high hopes in their offense again: Riley Holzapfel is not only the point leader in playoffs (10G, 9A), he has also scored at least one point in his last eleven games.
