The UPC Vienna Capitals won against the EC-KAC with 4:2 and are back on the top again. With the 3:2 success of HC Orli Znojmo over Fehervar AV 19 the Czechs extended their run to three consecutive home wins. Right from the beginning the fans saw a open game with good chances on both ends. Because of a couple of penalties the KAC had good powerplay opportunities in the first period. Manuel Ganahl captured the lead for the guests in the 16th minute. Only two minutes Macgregor Sharp had the perfect answer, he tied the game from short distance position. Seconds before the end of the first period Jerry Pollastrone had a good possibility for the lead, but didn’t overcome Tomas Duba. The Caps had a good second period – in the 25th minute it was Sharp again, who scored and brought the lead. The layers of both teams kept the tempo high but both teams did a good defensive work. In the third period Jamie Lundmark scored by Onetimer for the tie again. Then the Caps took the lead again after a good combination of Famie Fraser and Jerry Pollastrone. The hosts kept the pressure high and three minutes later Dominic Hackl scored his first goal in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga of his career from the blue line for the 4:2 result. Eagles grind out a win over Fehervar New addition to the Znojmo lineup, last years MVP Colton Yellow Horn was very lively in the opening period, twice coming close to opening the scoring in the early minutes, but he narrowly missed both times. The home side opened the scoring on a powerplay thanks to a close-range shot by David Bartos at 2:40. Fehervar responded quickly, a sole chance was netted with a wristshot from the slot by Daniel Koger. Yet Znojmo still took the game in control later in the period thanks to the veteran forward Peter Pucher who was standing in the right place for a goal rebound on another powerplay. The play was more even after the break, visitors coming close several times and eventually equalizing thanks to yet another goal by Daniel Koger at 28:11. With both teams tied, the decision came at 46th minute when Pucher's pass found Radek Cip in front of the net and he found the net to make it 3:2. Fehervar's only chance to avert the loss came shortly after when Sarauer was alone in front if the net, but had his chance saved by the goalie.
