Znojmo got first season-win over Graz

HC Orli Znojmo won on Sunday in Graz 3:2, which sends the 99ers to 9th place.

HC Orli Znojmo had the better start into the game in Graz: Patrik Novak and Antonin Boruta had good chances in the beginning, but both were stopped by goalie Danny Sabourin. The 99ers on the other side could not put accents and felt insecure. Milan Prochazka benefit from a mistake from the hosts, passed the puck to Patrik Novak, who was free in the Slot and the youngster scored the first goal (9.). The home-team then found better into the game, but Francis Lemieux and Greg Day missed the first good opportunities and late in the period the 99ers also failed to score in a Power Play.

In the second period Moser Medical Graz99ers acted more offensive and came to some chances. Two seconds before the end Francis Lemieux made the second goal for Graz, but it was too late for a comeback. HC Orli Znojmo won in Graz with 3:2 and finished the regular season on fifth place. The Czechs start the Pick-Round next Friday in Linz. The 99ers finished the regular season on the ninth place and will start the Play-off-Race with two bonus-points. Their first opponent is on Friday at home SAPA Fehervar AV19.
