Leader EC Red Bull Salzburg beat Moser Medical Graz99ers with 3:0. Goalie Luka Gracnar celebrated his third Shut-out. The Red Bulls controlled the game mainly in the first period, but the hosts did not found a solution against the good 99ers-defense. Salzburg also played good defense, so it took Graz ten minutes to get the first shot on the net from Luka Gracnar. Salzburg’s best chances in the first period missed Andreas Nödl and Garrett Roe in a Power Play. In the final minutes of the first period Graz got more dangerous, but Luka Gracnar stopped Olivier Latendresse (2x), Daniel Woger and Kris Reinthaler from scoring. In the second period the game was interrupted several times, because of penalties. Salzburg still tried hart, but still had problems against the 99ers-defense. In the middle of the game Graz had a Power Play: The Styrians had now their best two minutes in the game, but Olivier Labelle (3x) and defenseman Dustin VanBallegooie could not beat Luka Gracnar as well. Then Thomas Raffl checked Alexandre Picard into the boards and the 99ers-defensman could not continue the game. With the break Salzburg’s Troy Milam put the puck in, but it was just moments after the period was over. In the last period Guillaume Lefebvre decided the game for Salzburg: After a foul against Joe Motzko (got injured) the game was over for both. In the following Power Play Garrett Roe scored the lead for the Red Bulls. Then also 99ers Dustin VanBallegooie was send out for two minutes and 5-on-3 Brian Fahey made after only 13 seconds the 2:0 (47.). Then most of the time a team played in Power Play. Milam and Matthias Trattnig or for Graz Rupert Strohmeier, VanBallegooie and Manuel Ganahl missed some good chances. Finally nine seconds before the end Thomas Raffl scored the 3:0 for the leader with an Empty-Netter. Goalie Luka Gracnar celebrated already his third Shut-out this season.
