99ers return on the winning-street

After losing two in a row, the Graz 99ers felt lots of pressure in their home game against Innsbruck. But the Styrians showed a strong effort and beat the sharks by 6:2. Graz99 made the game, Innsbruck tried their luck in counters. And it took the guests just 55 seconds to get the lead, Tyler Donati finished a break. But the hosts answered quickly: Francis Lemieux started in the own zone an attack and ended the solo with a nice shot. But the Tyrolean could get the lead once again: Daniel Frischmann finished another counterattack and scored his first goal in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Innsbruck remained dangerous on break-aways, but once only hit the post. The sharks than had two Power Play chances, but two mistakes enabled Francis Lemieux and Olivier Latendresse two shorthanded goals for Graz and a 3:2-lead. The 99ers dominated the game in the second period: Ryan Kinasewich, Manuel Ganahl (both only hit the post) and Olivier Latendresse had great opportunities for the fourth goal. In the defense the hosts not showed a stronger performance and so Innsbruck was not that dangerous in counterattacks anymore. In the final third the sharks could not turn around the game anymore: Justin Donati failed Innsbruck’s only chance for the equalizer backhand from two meters. Then Graz had an easy game and came with three goals from Olivier Latendresse, Ryan Kinasewich and Manuel Ganahl to a clear 6:2-home-win over Innsbruck.
