Usually Austria's rekord champion KAC is a number too big for Graz. But 99ers showed defensive strengths and shut down the team from Klagenfurt with 1:0. Moser Medical Graz99ers beat EC-KAC in their first home-game with 1:0. The only goal was scored by Manuel Ganahl. The Styrians had the game under control most of the time. Klagenfurt on the other side had problems making their game and had no solution against the Graz99ers-defense. The Champion tried their luck with shots from the distance, but goalie Dany Sabourin was not to beat this way. Even in a 5-on-3-Power-Play early in the third period (for 15 seconds) Klagenfurt was not able to score. And also when KAC-goalie Rene Swette left his net for an extra-skater no goal was scored anymore. Moser Medical Graz99ers – EC-KAC 1:0 (1:0, 0:0, 0:0) Referees: TRILAR/WARSCHAW, 4.050 spectators; Goal Graz: Ganahl (14.)
