Freitag, 21.November 2014 - 7:39 - Four games are played on Friday: Champion HCB Südtirol hosts Leader UPC Vienna Capitals, that is still unbeaten on the road. Dornbirn welcomes Linz. The Black Wings won so far all nine games against the Bulldogs. Fehervar AV19 hosts HC Orli Znojmo in a duel of two top-6-teams: The Czechs won their last five games, while the Hungarians are without a win after the International Break. And Villach hosts Salzburg.

1. Bulldogs without a win vs. Linz
Dornbirner EC hosts EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz on Friday. The Bulldogs are so far without a win against the Upper Austrians, lost all nine games in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. After the International Break Dornbirn is still unbeaten, won both games in Ljubljana and at home against HCB Südtirol. Linz returned on Sunday with a 7:2-home-win over Villach after five defeats on the winning-street, but is without a win on the road already for four games.

Dave MacQueen, Headcoach Dornbirner EC: „We won three from our last four games, that gives us confidence. This weekend we want to make an other step forward!“ Rob Daum, Headcoach EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz, warns: „Dornbirn has a much better team, as it looked like before the Break. They can be the team, that makes a big step forward until the end of the year. We must be ready!“

Injury report:
Linz must travel without Matthias Iberer, Philipp Lukas and Daniel Oberkofler to Dornbirn. Robert Lukas hops to make his comeback. Dornbirn misses David Madlener and Garnet Exelby.

2. Villach welcomes best offense
EC VSV showed two faces lately: While the Eagles lost in Linz for the seventh time in a row on the road, they won their last four home-games. Against Innsbruck, Dornbirn, Linz and Szekesfehervar the Eagles scored at home always five times. With 14 points (7 wins) from ten games Villach is also the number 1 with three other teams in the home-ranking. Now on Friday Gerhard Unterluggauer and Company welcome Salzburg. The Red Bulls have scored the most goals (76) so far. With Thomas Raffl, John Hughes, Andreas Kristler and Alexander Rauchenwald four former Villach-players are doing well in Salzburgs offense.

Quotes: Patrick Platzer, Forward EC VSV: „We expect a top-team from Salzburg. The Red Bulls have great offense and defense. We are highly motivated and we must play well defense, skate a lot and shoot a lot!“ Daniel Welser, Forward EC Red Bull Salzburg: „Villach has a god Powerplay, but 5-on-5 we are better, when we bring our speed on the ice!“

Injury report and more:
Villach is without Mario Altmann, while Salzburg misses Alexander Pallestrang, Konstantin Komarek and Luka Gracnar. The Red Bulls extended the contract with Kyle Beach.

3. Champion vs. Leader in Bozen
Champion HCB Südtirol welcomes Leader UPC Vienna Capitals on Friday. Tom Pokel, who lead Bozen last season to the title, returns with his new team for the first time to South Tyrol. After the Break the Capitals are still without a win, lost against HC Orli Znojmo and Ljubljana at home. But now three road-games are ahead of the Capitals. And on the road Jonathan Ferland and Co. are the only unbeaten team, won all eight games so far and got just nine goals. Bozen on the other side is very strong at home, got points from their last six home-games (five wins). The Foxes also have great defense and got just 20 goals so far at home, that is the second best value in the league.

Brian Rodney, Defenseman HCB Südtirol: „Vienna is leading in the League. We must show our best performance to win. The atmosphere in the team is great. In each practice and in each game we push us, to be better and better.“
Tom Pokel, Headcoach UPC Vienna Capitals, warns: „Bozen is very strong at home: They won five out of their last six home-games and they also beat Salzburg. This game want be easy!“

Injury report:
Vienna is without Benoit Gratton, Hugh Jessiman and Patrick Peter. Bozen misses Roland Hofer.

4. With Fehervar and Znojmo two top-6-teams are facing each other
Fehervar AV19 hosts in a game between two top-6-teams HC Orli Znojmo on Friday. While the Czechs won their last five games, the Hungarians are still without points after the International Break. The Devils lost against Villach 4:5 and at home vs. Graz 2:5. Just EC-KAC is also without points after the Break. While Fehervar AV19 needs points to secure their top 6 spot, Znojmo wants to continue their good run and to get closer to the Top 3. The Czechs hve the second best offense and the best Power Play.

Rob Pallin, Headcoach FehervarAV19: „Against Graz we had a lot of offensive opportunities but our defensive responsibilities must get cleaned up. We had really good puck control on our powerplay but missing our quarterback was very noticable. Now waits Znojmo: The Czechs are a very offensive, dangerous team. Their forwards are very creative with the puck and their defensemen are very puck-moving, skilled defensemen. We must limit their chances offensively and for us to be successful we cannot allow any lapses defensively.“ Ondrej Fiala, Forward HC Orli Znojmo: „We are doing well at the moment, have a good team spirit and we hope to continue in the same way also on Friday. It will be a tough game but we are well prepared.“

Injury report and more Ales Sova and Martin Baca must sty in Znojmo, because of injuries. Pavel Rosa and Jiri Beroun are day-to-day with their injuries. Fehervar has Arnold Varga and Istvan Bartalis back in the Line-up.
