Sonntag, 19.Oktober 2014 - 10:12 - On Sunday Fehervar AV19, HC Orli Znojmo and HDD Telemach Olimpija Ljubljana have to hit the road, VSV is hosting leader Vienna and EC-KAC plays HCB Südtirol. Plus: Westderby at Innsbruck.

At the first game between Fehervar AV19 and EC Red Bull Salzburg the Bulls celebrated a 7:0-shutout-win in Hungary, but nevertheless Salzburg doesn’t want to underestimate Fehervar for their home game on Sunday. “We always had to fight hard versus Fehervar in our home games. We have to be ready and want to play at least as good as versus VSV on Thursday”, stated forward Andres Kristler. If Goalie Luca Gracner will play is questionable, probably Bernd Brückler will get the start between the pipes.
After the 4:5-defeat at Znojmo on Friday the next tough game on the road is waiting for Fehervar AV19. “We must be very disciplined against the Red Bulls, we must be very sound defensively and we must capitalize on our opportunities. If we play the way we played the last two periods against Znojmo, then we will have a chance to be successful on the road. In my opinion Salzburg is the best team of the league“, said Coach Rob Pallin.

Graz 99ers favorite against Ljubljana
The Moser Medical Graz 99ers made eight points out of their last six games and are hosting HDD Telemach Olimpija Ljubljana on Sunday, where they are supposed to be the favorite. “We want to end this weekend with four points, but we won’t underestimate Ljubljana, we have to stay patient and take advantage of our chances”, said Mitch Ganzak. Tomas Petruska, Willie Coetzee, Miha Verlic and Rupert Strohmeier are still not available.
Olimpija Ljubljana played the last game on Tuesday and used the last days for practice and preparation for the game at Graz. "There are great character guys on this team. So without a doubt I'm expecting us to pull together. At times every team will run into the game as our last game. The big thing is how we respond. We've had a great week of practice so far and you can expect a great effort on Sunday. We have to use not playing Friday to our advantage and be especially focused on the beginning of the game in Graz", said Hunter Bishop.
Igor Cvetek, Miha Pesjak, Ivan Sijan and also Goalie Andy Chiodo won’t be available for the game.

Black Wings want to take revenge of Znojmo
The Black Wings are ranked third at the moment, are hosting HC Orli Znojmo on Sunday and they want to take revenge on the Czechs for the defeat at Znojmo two weeks ago. Linz won all of their thrre games at home and also want to continue that series on Sunday.

Znojmo won four out of the last five games and also the first game versus Linz was won with 6:3. “We are not going to change the winning lineup. We are happy with the way we play in the offense, we have some problems in the defense that we need to improve. Patrik Nechvatal will start in goal, he is having a good run. Ondrej Fiala is also coming back to the lineup so that will help us, too. Linz is a strong team, but we want some points”, stated Coach Jiri Reznar.

Westderby in Innsbruck
Both HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie” as well as the Dornbirner Eishockey Club were struggling lately, on Sunday they are playing each other in the Westderby. “We know that Dornbirn has a good team and a lot of experienced players in their roster. We have to play smart in our own end and just do a great job”, knows Daniel Frischmann and Dornbirn-forward Niki Petrik added: “In a derby there is no favorite. In our situation we have to play together as a team, fight for every inch and win the battles.”
Sharks-forward Marcus Olsson will be missing and in Dornbirn Nathan Lawson (lower body), David Madlener (upper body) and Jonathan D'Aversa (upper body) won’t be available for Coach Dave MacQueen.

KAC also wants to beat the reigning champion
EC-KAC is hosting the reigning champion HCB Südtirol on Sunday, especially for Kim Strömberg, who wore the Foxes-jersey last year, it will be a special game: “It is always something special for me to play Bozen, very emotional. But on Sunday that doesn’t count anymore, we want to win and get another two points.“
David Schuller (lower body) and Mike Siklenka (upper body) are still injured.

HCB-Südtirol on the other side is hitting the road to Klagenfurt. They could win the first ga,e against them two weeks ago and want to continue winning also in Klagenfurt. “It will be a tough game in Klagenfurt, they for sure want to take revenge on us. We have to play smart and take advantage of our chances”, said Justin Keller.

VSV is hosting leader Vienna Capitals
EC VSV is playing the leader of the Erste Bank Eishockey League, the UPC Vienna Capitals on Sunday. Goalie J.P. Lamoureux and defender Gerhard Unterluggauer won’t play due to injuries, therefore Mark Santorelli, Klemen Pretnar, Cole Jarrett and Marco Pewal will return to the lineup. “We mustn’t give Vienna too much space and take advantage of our chances, then we can also beat the leader“, stated Hannu Järvenpää.

On the other side Newcomer Andreas Nödl will play his first game for the Vienna Capitals: “For sure I will need some games til I will be at 100%. I am looking forward to the game and want to help my new team.” Benoit Gratton (upper body), Hugh Jessiman (lower body) and Patrick Peter (lower body) are still injured.
