Montag, 24.März 2014 - 20:37 - The semifinals continue on Tuesday with game-day 2: HCB Südtirol, that won all five Play-off-games so far, could take a big step towards the finals.

EC VSV lost on Sunday the first semifinal in Bozen 1:2. After 20 minutes the Eagles was back already 0:2. Captain Gerhard Unterluggauer knows: “We were not in the game in the first half of the game. Bozen also played very compact. Nevertheless we had four break-aways and our chances: When the game went on, we found better into the game and we saw that we have our chances against this opponent.” Also in the Quarterfinals Villach lost game 1 in Vienna and then they reached the next round with four wins in a row. On Tuesday the Eagles now want to tie the series at home, where the Eagles won both Play-off-games so far. “We want to win on Tuesday at home and tie the series. With our team this season everything is possible. At home we showed solid games so far this season. We must play compact, stay out of the Penalty Box and take advantage from our chances”, added Unterluggauer. Klemen Pretnar is still out, while young defenseman Nico Brunner should make his comeback.

HCB Südtirol won also their fifth game in the Play-offs! The Foxes beat Villach in the first Semifinal on Sunday at home 2:1. Marco Insam and Mark Santorelli scored both goals for their team already in the first period. Besides the Italians did a great job in the defense. “We played fairly well so far in all five Play-off-games. We played a solid game against Villach, well in our own end and did not take lots of penalties, what is important against a good powerplay-team, like Villach. In the first period we even did not give them anything. But now we are already focused on game two on Tuesday in Villach”, said Forward Marco Insam. The semifinals continue already tomorrow in Villach: The Foxes won in March all three road-games in Linz (3:1) and in Szekesfehervar (4:2 and 4:3). Also in Villach Alexander Egger and Company were successful just once in this season. The team traveled already on Monday too Carinthia, all players are fit. “We must keep it simple and play our style. But it will be tough there, Villach has the crowd behind”, knows the forward.
