Montag, 03.Februar 2014 - 7:37 - 3:0, 3:3, 6:3 - the home game against Bozen was an up and down match for VSV. The eagles took revenge and beat the foxes.

Villach had a perfect start into the game against Bozen: Patrick Platzer finished a counter after a pass from Marius Göhringer after just 2 minutes. The Eagles continued to make pressure and extended their lead with a Power Play goal from Captain Gerhard Unterluggauer. HCB-Coach Tom Pokel took a Time Out, which did not help: After a nice pass from Eric Hunter Scott Hotham put the puck in in another Power Play from a short distance.

In the second period Bozen came back within five minutes: Mark Santorelli started the comeback with a Power Play goal (22.): After a shot from MacGregor Sharp he poked the puck in. Two minutes later Marco Insam scored the 2:3, he beat Lamoureux with a strong shot between the legs and in another Power Play Kim Strömberg made the 3:3 from a sharp angle. But Villach had an answer: John Hughes deflected a sharp shot from Cole Jarret into the net. With the lead in the back again Villach was the hungrier team in the last period and came to the 5:3 from Eric Hunter, who deflected the puck after a shot from Klemen Pretnar (45.). After Daniel Nageler missed a Penalty Shot, it was Curtis Fraser, who fixed the 6:3-win with his 20th goal of the season.
