Donnerstag, 18.Januar 2018 - 20:54 - Top officials from Austria and Germany will take charge of this season's Champions Hockey League Final.

Head Referee for the Final on 6 February in Växjö will be Marc Lemelin. A native of Albuquerque, USA, Lemelin joined Austria's EBEL in the 2016-17 season after officiating over 50 games in the NHL. This season he has refereed in the EBEL and DEL, as well as seven CHL games. Lemelin has also been selected for the 2018 Winter Olympics and will head to Pyongchang after the CHL Final.

Joining Lemelin with the armbands is DEL referee Daniel Piechaczek. The German official worked the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, and has experience at World Championship, World Juniors, and KHL level. Piechaczek was chosen as 'Best Referee' in Germany last year, and has also worked seven games in this season's CHL.

Running the lines will be Lukas Kohlmüller (DEL) and Elias Seewald (EBEL). Kohlmüller will also head to Pyongchang after the CHL final, while Seewald has previously been selected for the World Junior Championships.

“They are all top ranked in their domestic leagues and stood out with great performances in the Champions Hockey League,” CHL Sports Director Bo Lennartsson said. “These game officials are very experienced and two of them will even travel to the Olympic Games in Pyongyang after the CHL Final, which proves that they are currently part of the world’s elite.”
